Afternoon tea at The Balcon begins with a selection of four seasonal finger sandwiches. Scones are served with Devonshire clotted cream, rose-scented jam and lemon curd while a selection of parisian pastries offers further sweet flavours. The range of loose-leaf tea includes St James Breakfast, a blend of second-flush black teas; jasmine green; and the familiarly citrusy Earl Grey.

Customers can opt to enjoy the spread amid the art deco furnishings of The Balcon’s dining area (usually £53) or alternatively take to a table in The Rose Lounge (£60), where live harp makes for a calming atmosphere. Visitors may add a glass of Champagne (£60/£76) to lend a little sparkle to proceedings.

The Balcon London brings the timeless charm of French cuisine to the West End. The Michelin-listed restaurant is situated on Pall Mall, minutes from Charing Cross, Piccadilly Circus and St. James’s Park. The kitchen prepares continental and English breakfasts, Gallic steaks, roasted fish fillets and a host of vegetarian dishes, all crafted using local and organic ingredients where possible.

The art deco inspired dining area features chandeliers, high ceilings and a distinctive winding staircase. The Charcuterie Bar offers platters of fine French and Welsh produce while the St James Bar is styled after a 1920s Parisian apartment. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea in the Rose Lounge or perhaps book a private dining experience for up to 16 guests. A harpist plays in the Rose Lounge from 3-6pm every day.
