About The Deal

The flavours of San Sebastián feature across lunch and five-course tasting menus at Michelin-starred Ametsa with Arzak Instruction. On the lunch menu, dishes include starters such as ‘Jamón Ibérico sobre Almohadas de Pan con Tomate’ Ibérico ham on a bread pillow, and ‘Chipirones en su Tinta’ black ink squid. For the main course, diners get the option of dishes such as ‘Merluza con Mejillones’ hake with mussels or ‘Codillo Embarrado’ muddied pork terrine. Meals can conclude with a sweet treat such as ‘Torrija de Naranja y Espinacas’ orange French toast or ‘Leche Tostada con Helado de Piña Asada’ clove custard with toasted milk and pineapple ice cream.

Alternatively, the tasting menu comprises five courses with a glass of Cava, and can be taken at lunchtime or in the evening. For the first course, diners begin with ‘Teja de Pipas di Girasol con Pato’ sunflowers seeds cracker with duck and ‘Roca de Cebolla con Boquerón’ onion rock with marinated anchovie. The second course presents ‘Flor de Huevo con Migas y Chistorra’ egg with chistorra and crumbs, followed by a fish course of ‘Bacalao Empedrado’ rocky cod. A dish of ‘Tacos de Vacuno con Tomatillo’ beef fillet with green tomato serves as the penultimate course, followed by a dessert of ‘Canicas de Chocolate y Fruta’ chocolate and fruit marbles. Tea, coffee and petit fours conclude the meal.

About Ametsa with Arzak Instruction

Ametsa with Arzak Instruction is a Michelin-starred, triple AA-Rosette-awarded Spanish restaurant located with The Halkin by COMO, close to Hyde Park. The restaurant is the result of a collaboration between The Halkin and a team of culinary experts which includes world-renowned chef Elena Arzak. The restaurant showcases the flavours of the Basque Country with a varied and authentic menu which uses the finest ingredients and culinary know-how which has been passed down for generations.

The interior features a wave-like ceiling, created from 7,000 glass receptacles filled with spices, and an oak floor. The ethos of the restaurateurs is to blend traditional Basque cooking with modern and surprising twists, to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
